Contract: 6+ months, W2 Only

The Data Analyst will be working as a team member in enterprise team by providing their experience and knowledge in data analysis to support critical data modeling and design decisions needed for the successful implementation enterprise information architecture projects. This resource will eventually become the subject matter expert in the areas of their work and be able to guide the projects with their insights.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and analyze the project requirements
  • Research data from various relevant source and target systems
  • Profile data, gather/provide meaningful sample data examples and show how they relate to and validate the requirements
  • Deliver the data mappings between System and Common Layer
  • Work closely with the business and systems analysts, data modelers and delivery teams

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in SQL and excellent understanding of data structures
  • Ability to identify and triage the data issues
  • Familiar with normalized, dimensional, and other relational modeling styles
  • Experience gathering requirements and data producers from non-technical end users
  • Experience with any ETL tool is highly preferred
  • Ability to document at the levels of conceptual, semantic, logical, and physical schemas
  • Experience in working with the reference data and metadata management
  • Knowledgeable about data warehousing and secondary data use
  • Exposure to data modeling tools and XML schemas/data structures
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving ability, organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Strong ability to effectively work with both technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in requirements gathering and data analysis data modeling, including ER models and Dimensional models
  • Data sourcing & data mapping
  • Experience in using Healthcare industry data standards – like X12, HL7 etc
  • Documenting and analyzing workflow and clinical processes
  • Creating data solutions to support business processes
  • Requirements gathering and analysis
  • Healthcare Payer industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of analytical tools, business intelligence tools, and statistical packages a plus

Data Modeler / Architect

Responsibilities:

  • Design all new/changing data structures in the Mortgage Banking environment.
  • Reduce the risk of implementing new/changing data structures in the Mortgage Banking environment.
  • Optimize the utilization of data assets by governing investments via a data blueprint.
  • Ensure that all technology directions create a positive customer experience.
  • Design, model and implement data solutions meet the business needs and risk tolerance criteria of the enterprise.
  • Ensure changes to the data environment generated by the department are compatible and compliant to the data blueprint and architectural standards.
  • Participate in project reviews for departmental projects as the data architecture representative.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively and efficiently through department, as well as the central architecture group.
  • Enforce data architectural standards via the Data Review Board and participation in all Mortgage Banking projects that create new data store or modify existing data stores.

Required Skills:

  • Logical + Physical Data Modeling experience is a must with a minimum of 5 years experience, 7+ preferred
  • ERwin experience is a must
  • Experience with large scale development projects, Internet development experience, large integration projects.
  • Knowledge of software project lifecycle is a must.
  • Experience with change management procedures is a must.
  • Experience with deployment of database changes is a must.
  • Understanding of distributed environments: Unix, NT; Data, Application and Web servers.

Preferred Skills:

  • Hands on experience with Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 and Teradata is preferred
  • Experience with robust, operationally sound production environments is preferred.
  • Experience with large/very large databases is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate and learn new technologies and products is preferred.
